What is it?
This download includes x3 sheets (portrait orientation) featuring x27 right-hand/finger ‘pointers’ in rainbow/skin tone colours both as solid colours and outline only.
What’s it for?
These are for learners to hold and use to ‘point’ to their learning - ideal to use alongside my ‘ants on apples’ set of rhymes (available in my TES shop!) /teaching-resource/ants-on-apples-x26-alphabet-rhymes-a-z-set-13118362
Who’s it for?
This resource has been designed for early years children, pupils in years one as well as students needing additional learning support. If you use a ‘pointer’ you can guarantee they would like to use one too!
How to make it?
Print onto white card, follow dotted lines to cut out each hand/pointer shape, attach a wooden lolly stick to the back with sticky tape and they’re ready to use! I kept my set in a little pot in the reading area for learners to help themselves to or you may wish for learners to have their own, maybe in their favourite colour…

What’s included?
This pdf download includes x4 landscape orientation sheets featuring every letter (and full word labels) to make the two words ‘Hello’ and ‘Welcome’ with clear step by step instructions to create colourful acetate letters/words for (window) display.
What’s it for?
These letters have been designed to install and sense of awe and wonder - the letters look so beautiful when the sun shines through them and where the coloured letter shape ‘falls’ depends on the position of the letters in relation to the sun which changes as the sun’s position changes.
These letters/words are ideal for displaying on a glass panel on a classroom door, offering a different and interesting ‘welcome’ to visitors to your classroom/learning space and obviously encourage learners to recognise and read these words. I have included the full set of alphabet letters (upper AND lower case letters) as separate listings in my TES shop. - these could be good for displaying on a glass panel on a classroom door. Uppercase letters /teaching-resource/-13180352 Lowercase letters /teaching-resource/-13180342
Who’s it for?
This resource has been designed for early years children, pupils in years one and two though would suit any window where those who see the letters/words would appreciate a pop of colour shining through letters/words when the sun comes out!
Resource Details
The letters are all in the font ‘Sassoon Infant Std’ - size 220-250, so a clear, ‘easy to read’ size. There are x4 pages. The first page includes clear step-by-step instructions and the remaining pages includes the separate letters to make the words ‘Welcome’ and ‘Hello’ (with exclamation marks!) The last page (4) includes the two words as one-word labels.
Suggestions
Printing and making these letters out of white card is recommended - paper is too flimsy and see-through so not effective. A set of coloured acetate/cellophane sheets is needed to make these - these are pretty inexpensive on Amazon(!)
Also recommend also backing every letter/each word in white card so that the coloured acetate/cellophane is concealed - this looks so much sharper on the window and makes each letter stronger however is twice the work and time.

What’s included?
This pdf download includes x5 landscape orientation sheets featuring every alphabet letter and clear step by step instructions to create colourful acetate letters for (window) display.
What’s it for?
These letters have been designed to install and sense of awe and wonder - the letters look so beautiful when the sun shines through them and where the coloured letter shape ‘falls’ depends on the position of the letters in relation to the sun which changes as the sun’s position changes. The set gives an opportunity to showcase the whole alphabet together to encourage learners to recognise and name each letter (and sound) and practise the order of the alphabet. The letters can of course be repositioned to create words and labels as you choose. The UPPERCASE version of this resource is also available in my TES shop /teaching-resource/-13180352
This resource would support work on shadows, light/dark and better understanding the shape of lowercase letters to support greater recognition.
Who’s it for?
This resource has been designed for early years children, pupils in years one and two as well as older students who would appreciate a pop of colour shining through letters/words when the sun comes out!
Resource Details
The letters are all in the font ‘Sassoon Infant Std’ - size 220-250, so a good, ‘easy to read’ size. There are x5 pages. The first includes instructions and the remaining pages all of the alphabet letters.

What’s included?
Two pages of the same resource - page 1 is the spot the difference activity, page 2 shows the answers, in the same layout for easy reference. x2 landscape, pdf sheets in total.
Who’s it for?
This resource has been designed for pupils in the early years, years one and two as well as older students needing additional learning support.
Resource Details
Page 1
The resource explores the concept of ‘opposites’ through two pictures showing the same scene with x9 differences (between the pictures) to identify. These differences are all ‘opposites’. These opposites are - on/off, up/down, sit/stand, sunny/rainy, shut/open, dry/wet, above/below, alive/not alive and in front/behind.
Once learners identify a difference between the picture scenes they can circle these and find the matching label below to link the two opposite word labels.
Page 2 is exactly the same layout with the opposite differences identified in both picture scenes with a circle and word label to make these clear.

What’s included?
This download includes two pages (x2 A4 sheets, portrait orientation) featuring one ‘question words’ wordsearch (page 1). The answers (on page 2) clearly show where all words are hidden, displayed in the same layout (as page 1) for easy comparison and quick reference.
Who’s it for?
This wordsearch has been designed for pupils in years one and two and maybe the early years, as well as students needing additional learning support.
What’s it for?
This resource has been designed to encourage and support young learners with reading ‘high frequency’ key words.
There are x24 words to find - a lot !
Resource layout
The wordsearch letters are arranged in a x10 by x10 square grid and featuring easy to read size 25 ‘Sassoon Infant Std’ font.
The question words have been organised into four groups of six, clearly showing all hidden words below the wordsearch. As said, there are x24 words to find in total.
These words are hidden horizontally (forwards and backwards), vertically (up as well as down) and diagonally (forwards and backwards). Words to find are; can, are, could, should, would, why, do, don’t, did, is, will, must, have, how, who, has, was, may, what, when, were, where, which and whose.
Recommendations
I recommend that learners use a ‘highlighter’ style pen when finding the hidden words as highlighters enable all letters to remain visible once each word has been identified. Some letters have been used more than once (for different words) so all letters need to remain visible (if words are instead ‘crossed out’ this makes the letters harder to read and identify). This wordsearch may be printed and laminated to be reused.

What’s included?
This download includes x3 A4, portrait pdf sheets for learners to make their own ‘mini book’ to share in writing and drawing some simple information that is ‘all about me’ to help learners and new teachers to get to know each other.
Who’s it for?
This resource has been designed for pupils in years one and two as well as older students needing additional learning support.
Resource Details
Page 1 This page has been designed to be the ‘book’ itself. The top section is the front and back cover, the middle and lower section have been designed as the pages to go inside the book. Learners are to cut along ‘dotted’ lines on page 1 to create three separate strips - these are the ‘pages’ of the book. Learners then stack these three pages together - with the ‘All about me!’ cover positioned at the front and fold along the ‘dashed’ lines. Learners can write their name on the line provided on the front cover before continuing with making their mini-book.
Next step - learners stick information (see pages 2 and 3) on front AND back of these pages to add more information to their ‘all about me’ mini-book.
Learners will each need a pencil, scissors and a glue stick. Adults may wish to ‘staple’ the spine of these mini-books together (along the ‘dashed lines’) once complete.
Pages 2 and 3. These pages have been designed to be cut out as individual squares and completed by learners before being stuck into the prepared mini-book. Learners can choose which ‘squares/pages’ to include in their mini book - there are several to choose from…
Information for learners to complete includes…
drawing a picture of themselves
writing the number for how old they are, drawing the correct number of candles onto a birthday cake to show this and recording in writing when their birthday is
writing or drawing and labelling something that they did during the summer holidays
colouring and writing the name of their favourite colour
drawing and labelling their favourite food (on a plate)
writing or drawing and labelling their favourite ‘thing to do’
circling a sentence to indicate whether they have a pet/s (or not)
writing the type of creature their pet is/pets are and their pets name/s
circling a sentence to indicate whether they like school (or not)
writing or drawing and labelling something they like about/to do at school
writing or drawing and labelling something they do not like about/to do at school

What’s included?
x6 sheets, portrait orientation, pdf format. x8 images and matching x8 words to sound out and read as well as match to images.
What’s it for?
This 'Phase 2/3‘ picture and word matching set has been designed to be a simple activity to consolidate learning. This set focuses on sounds within Phase 2 AND Phase 3.
This activity is ideal for groups/individuals to be getting on with independently and/or for learners to revisit these sounds with an adult.
Who’s it for?
This resource has been designed for Early Years children who are learning these sounds for the first time, pupils in Year 1 who need some practise/reinforcement of these sounds. This resource is also ideal for learners with additional learning needs.
How to use it?
Each learner sounds out the graphemes printed on the ‘word cards’ then matches these to the and ‘stand up character/picture cards’. There are x8 pictures and word cards to match.
Resource Details…
Each word card has a coloured triangle (top, left). Pink indicates these words are using Phase 2 sounds. Purple indicates that these words use Phase 3 sounds. Red graphemes indicate that these sounds might be more tricky as different people can pronounce these sounds differently. E.g. the ‘er’ in the word ‘cracker’ many people pronounce this as an ‘uh’ or ‘a’ sound. Learners may need support with these (red) graphemes.
ALL images/words featured here have been chose because they CAN be sounded out - the ‘tick’ pictured on the coloured (pink/purple) triangle indicates that these words can be sounded out.
The words included are listed here:
Phase 2 Words
elf
robin
Santa
Phase 3 Words
cracker
tree
Nutcracker
snowman
pudding

I have included two versions of the letter ‘k’ as some learners may be more used to the look of one style than the other.
